ČT24 reported that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has requested the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to register her voice as a trademark to protect herself from clones and deepfakes created by artificial intelligence. The request reportedly included a four-second recording in which Meloni repeated the title of her autobiography "Io sono Giorgia Meloni." ČT24 reminded that Meloni highlighted in May the fake images created by artificial intelligence that depicted her in underwear. According to the station, the trademark, as noted by Politico, would not give the Prime Minister control over all imitations of her voice nor would it make deepfakes a criminal offense. However, it could provide her with additional legal grounds to challenge unauthorized commercial use of the protected recording, depending on the goods and services listed in the application. #GiorgiaMeloni #duševnívlastnictví #uměláinteligence (translated)
