John Joodan estimated that a scene from DBS showed how ridiculous Goku had been made in his base form. He specified that the scene and dialogues were identical, but that the facial expression changed everything, adding that the criticisms were therefore not unfounded. #DragonBallSuper #Goku #Anime (translated)

We started with only 30 people. The engineers earned twice as much as I did, and when we took a taxi instead of the bus, we had to justify it," recalls his wife Stella Li, vice president of the Chinese group and the face of the brand internationally, in Les Echos. #BYD #VoitureÉlectrique #MondialAutomobile (translated)

Press Briefs reported, citing Le Monde, that Eden, 14 years old, had lost the ability to speak after being hit in the face by a tear gas grenade fired by a police officer on September 28 in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône. The projectile was allegedly fired at point-blank range and nearly broke all of his upper teeth, tore part of his gums, and caused a double jaw fracture. The police officer had been charged with violence resulting in mutilation or permanent disability and placed under judicial supervision. The publication added that students and teachers at the Château-d’Épluches high school remained in shock. A teacher was wondering how to support the students after the incident, while Ryan, a friend of Eden, had hung a sign reading "Justice for Eden" on the school gate and sent a photo to his friend. Eden had replied to him with a heart emoji. https://t.co/B2wcjxMAPH #JusticePourEden #ViolencesPolicières #LibertéDexpression (translated)

Press Briefs reported nearly 7,000 police custody cases, 86% of which involved minors, and indicated that the majority had not led to legal proceedings at this stage. The account described these arrests as a massive and unprecedented measure aimed at containing the mobilization of young people. Several cited observers viewed this as a form of intimidation, while Press Briefs believed this practice infringed on the right to protest and risked normalizing disproportionate police and judicial responses. The account added that the preventive use of police custody had already been documented during the Yellow Vests movement. Relying on independent press articles, Press Briefs relayed testimonies from high school students reporting violent detention conditions, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, forced undressings, and physical or psychological violence. A 15-year-old reportedly recounted being slammed against a concrete bed and hit on the head by police and then insulted. A complaint had been filed, according to the account, which also indicated that the police prefecture had not responded to Mediapart's questions about the reported statements. Mohammed, a 16-year-old high school student in Saint-Denis, reportedly stated that police had hit the bars of his cell during the night to wake up the detainees and had targeted him with a racist insult. The mother of Noham, also 16, claimed that her son had been hit in the liver and face after asking why he had been arrested. Adam's mother also denounced violence against young protesters. Press Briefs added that several teenage girls and boys reported sexist and racist remarks from police, and complaints had been filed. Anne Savinel-Barras, president of Amnesty International France, expressed her concern over the repression of the student movement, believing that the young people's demands for education and health were met with prohibitions on demonstrations and disproportionate police violence. The NGO stated that it would support people peacefully protesting and defend the right to demonstrate. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights also expressed concern about the situation in France and notably called for a proportional use of force. #jeunesse #manifestation #répression (translated)

Jon De Lorraine stated that the debate between Louise and Elwan was followed because it revealed, beyond a televised confrontation, a crisis of representation. He presented Louise as a young woman who embraced her ideas and, in his view, met the expectations of millions of French people disappointed by a political class he accused of calculating to preserve its allowances and interests. In contrast, he described Elwan as representative of a self-assured and moralizing television left. He praised her oratorical ease while asserting that she drew inspiration from the style of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. According to him, the left and far-left were thus seeking to extend their ideas to younger and more affluent classes but found themselves struggling as soon as the debate went beyond slogans. De Lorraine interpreted the resonance of the sequence as a sign that some French people were looking for new faces and a break from the traditional political class. He mentioned an economic, security, and migration crisis, but above all, a crisis of representation, and concluded that a part of the country desired a less formatted discourse as well as a right that assumed its ideas more fully. #PolitiqueFrançaise #Changement #EngagementCitoyen (translated)
