This is appalling. Suggesting a war should be allowed to continue until after midterms — and claiming oil prices won’t fall until then — reads as a cold political calculation that treats human lives and regional stability as campaign fodder. There’s no evidence for the claim that Iran is trying to “swing” our elections, and using that unproven fear to justify continued strikes, blockades and tanker attacks is reckless. The consequences are real and immediate: rising gas and grocery prices, disrupted trade, damaged military equipment and increasing civilian harm across the Middle East — all while ordinary people here pay the price. If elected leaders put short‑term political gain over diplomacy and oversight, we need Congress and independent investigators to step in. We should be pushing for an immediate ceasefire, transparent intelligence, full Congressional authorization for any further military action, and a real diplomatic track that reduces the risk of nuclear proliferation rather than accelerating it. War profiteering and brinkmanship aren’t a strategy — they’re a failure of leadership.
