Ilias Kallonas wrote that Olympiacos approached the game as a match they had to win and that this mentality was evident in the duels. He argued that Nistrup did not read the game correctly, as he allowed the opponent to have possession, resulting in Panathinaikos completely distancing themselves from their playing philosophy. He added that the championship still had a way to go, but the derby showed which team was better prepared. #OLYPAO #Ολυμπιακός #Παναθηναϊκός #ντέρμπι (translated)

Choricos wrote that Donald Trump, concerned about an impending defeat in the midterm elections, turned to Russia asking for oil. According to him, Vladimir Putin seemed to agree in exchange for American support for his goals in Ukraine. He added that if Trump persists in his current statements in favor of Volodymyr Zelensky's resignation and the immediate end of the war, Britain will soon follow, leaving the EU facing the burden of the situation. Choricos also described Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron as dangerous for the future of Europe, accusing them of diplomatic rigidity and a warlike stance aimed, as he wrote, at maintaining their positions. #Τραμπ #Ρωσία #Ευρώπη (translated)

The Proper Greek Analyst criticized publications from Kontra, Eleftheros Typos, Political, and Dimokratia, arguing that they presented as a Greek success an exception that would pave the way for a reduction of fuel taxes or investments amounting to 1 billion euros. He described the coverage as misleading and said it confused two different requests. According to him, the government's request for temporary reductions in the Special Consumption Tax or VAT on fuels not to be counted toward the deficit was rejected. He argued that such measures would directly support citizens and businesses and that they had been implemented without requests to the Commission from 11 EU countries. He also cited a Reuters publication regarding the rejection of requests from Greece and Italy for greater fiscal flexibility. On the contrary, he mentioned that a request for exemption from fiscal rules on spending for energy projects had been accepted. In his post, this possibility did not concern only Greece: a Commission announcement dated 18/8/26, with code C/2026/4514, stipulated an exemption of up to 0.6% of GDP cumulatively over two years for countries that would apply. He estimated that this corresponded for Greece to 1.56 billion euros, with an GDP of 260 billion euros at current prices in 2026, and not the 1 billion euros that, as he wrote, the government planned to allocate. The Proper Greek Analyst added that Italy's request, which, according to ANSA, concerned 0.6% of GDP or 14 billion euros, was expected to be approved by Monday. He contrasted this amount with the 0.38% of GDP or 1 billion euros attributed to the Greek plan. For Greek projects, he mentioned grants of 200 million euros for energy storage batteries from renewable sources, 320 million euros for railroad safety and expansion projects, 200 million euros for heat pumps and solar water heaters for 100,000 beneficiaries, 117 million euros for energy upgrades of 109 public buildings and universities, 50 million euros for photovoltaics, batteries, and heating systems for 10,000 beneficiaries, 50 million euros for carbon capture and storage in industry, and 45 million euros for 246 school units. He stated that, beyond the subsidies for households, the remaining projects would not directly benefit citizens. #Ελλάδα #ενέργεια #δημοσιονομικά (translated)

Emily Yiolitis accused some of reproducing a misleading title to promote, as she said, "pseudo-patriotism," instead of listening to her entire discussion with Feidias. She added that others did it out of ignorance and others deliberately. Yiolitis stated that she presented her vision for a free, united, and democratic Cyprus, from Paphos to Kyrenia and Rizokarpaso. She declared that she honored the history and sacrifices of the heroes of EOKA and did not question the connection of the Greek national anthem with the struggles of Hellenism. At the same time, she mentioned that she envisioned a common agreement between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots for a truly free Republic of Cyprus, with a common anthem that would express freedom, democracy, and peaceful co-existence. She described a state without constituent parts, divisions, or minority groups of different speeds, where every citizen would have one vote. According to her, such an anthem would not negate the sacrifices of the heroes but would justify them. Yiolitis characterized this position as the essence of her intervention and said that the distortions took her away from its real meaning. She added that she was glad if her statements contributed even a little to a dialogue for the liberation of Cyprus, away from rigidities of the bi-zonal, bi-communal federation type. #Ελευθερία #Δημοκρατία #Πατριωτισμός (translated)

The post stated that Mr. Mitsotakis had said he would step down from the leadership of New Democracy with a percentage of 25%. The author questioned whether the same percentage was considered acceptable for governing Greece, but not for the leadership of the party, and wrote that the political discussion had shifted to an internal party power struggle and the personal political future of the Prime Minister. #πολιτική #ΝΔ #Μητσοτάκης #GR (translated)

The author wrote that Kyriakos Mitsotakis agreed with him that 25% was a criterion for political developments and his political future. He argued that New Democracy was significantly below that percentage and accused Mitsotakis of investing in media control practices and vote buying through the method of OPEKEPE. #Μητσοτάκης #Πολιτική #ΝέαΔημοκρατία #GR (translated)

Maria Denaxa argued that the conflicts in France should not distract from the wave of anger that, as she wrote, continued to intensify despite police violence, mutilations, and what she perceived as efforts to downplay it. She warned that announcements and images projected by media outlets and paid social media accounts would represent attempts at manipulation. Denaxa stated that 86% of citizens rejected Emmanuel Macron and claimed that he had misled 60 million citizens. She also wrote that "Macronism" had ended as it had begun, with violence against those who demanded a better future, leaving behind, in her view, a France in an irreversible state. At the same time, she argued that Europeans should not tolerate leaders who, as she claimed, undermine the future of their children and may lead them into an irrational war to maintain their positions. She named Macron, Ursula, and Merz, saying that they were trying to create the impression that everything was going smoothly, while the situation in France was at risk of spiraling out of control. #Γαλλία #Ευρώπη #Μακρονισμός (translated)

Johnny Hoston estimated that what Rubio was saying could lead a future historian to consider that particular day crucial for securing the nomination after Trump. He added that the comparison with Vance would now be unfair to the latter. If Rubio received the nomination and became the 48th president of the USA, Hoston said there would be reason for celebration. He also reminded that, as he mentioned, Rubio and Menendez had blocked the F-35s and broadly the defense programs for Turkey. https://t.co/vR68jt1zU8 #Ρούμπιο #ΗΠΑ #Πολιτική (translated)
