For a car manufacturer like Škoda, it doesn't make a difference whether it will be 90 or 100 percent. The share of internal combustion engines is so low that it is no longer profitable to manufacture something like the Octavia when you sell 10,000 of them a year. It may be profitable for a brand that makes expensive sports cars, but not for Škoda Auto. Today, the former member of the management board of Škoda Auto, Martin Jahn, who is now the sales director of VW, commented on this clearly in a June interview for Hospodářské noviny: "For a car manufacturer like Škoda, it doesn't make a difference whether it will be 90 or 100 percent. The share of internal combustion engines is so low that it is no longer profitable to manufacture something like the Octavia when you sell 10,000 of them a year.
