Como o Orçamento de 2027 já contava com essa receita, o Governo terá de encontrar uma forma de compensar a perda. A regulamentação de 2023 criou uma cobrança de 12% sobre a receita bruta das bets, além de outros impostos. Uma lei aprovada em 2025 elevou essa taxa gradualmente, até 15% em 2028. Cada empresa autorizada também pagou R$ 30 milhões por uma licença de 5 anos. No 1º semestre de 2026, havia 84 bets licenciadas, responsáveis por 193 marcas. A receita bruta dessas empresas foi de R$ 20,28 bilhões, alta de 6,2% sobre os R$ 19,09 bilhões do mesmo período de 2025. Em todo o ano passado, foram R$ 40,69 bilhões.
