Julio Schneider said he would like to be in Brazil to hear the bells ringing and compared the moment to the story of the Liberty Bell in Pennsylvania, whose crack, according to him, symbolized the decision of a people to stop being property. From afar, he asked that the bells awaken the consciousness of Brazilians for democracy, justice, and freedom. He also stated that Brazil needed to free itself from those who, in his assessment, had taken power, and advocated for a response without hate, through voting and institutions.
