Julio Schneider stated that Manaus woke up covered in smoke and with the worst air quality in Brazil, according to his post, while the Civil Defense alerted the population to avoid going outside. He said that the Fire Department requested aircraft to combat the fires in Amazonas, but that the Lula government denied the request. Schneider also questioned the absence of statements from Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury, Nando Reis, Arnaldo Antunes, Milton Bituca, Anavitória, Exu do Blues, Céu, Criolo, Gaby Amarantos, Duda Beat, Péricles, Vitão, and Xande de Pilares, whom he associated with campaigns in defense of the Amazon. #Amazônia #Queimadas #MudançasClimáticas (translated)
