Senator Enrique Gómez summarized the claims that, according to him, Eva Ferrer had made in an interview. He pointed out that Ferrer accused Verónica Alcocer of leading a network for trafficking drugs, weapons, and dollars that cooperated with the so-called "Italians" of Enrico Romagnoli, and of transporting 2.5 million dollars from Venezuela on an official plane. According to Gómez's summary, Ferrer asserted that Petro had benefited from that network through electoral support and logistics to organize demonstrations. He also mentioned the involvement of Manel Grau, Agmeth Escaf, Carolina Plata, and Mario Fernández Alcocer, cousin of Verónica Alcocer. Gómez added that Ferrer had spoken about the management of a supposed contribution of 50,000 euros from Papá Pitufo to Petro's presidential campaign in 2022, which Xavier Vendrell would have participated in. He claimed that the prosecutor in charge of the case had already indicated that there was interference from Petro's Government in favor of Papá Pitufo. He also noted that Ferrer mentioned the management of a contribution of at least 250,000 euros from Euclides Torres to the 2022 campaign. In the end, Gómez wondered if Petro had been, as Ferrer suggested, a puppet of Verónica Alcocer or if he was the head of the criminal gang. #Colombia #Política #Corrupción (translated)

Yesid Lancheros wrote that SEMANA reported that Verónica Alcocer made 149 trips, almost all on state planes, and transported nearly 2,100 passengers. Among them were the Catalans, Alcocer's cousin, Mario Fernández Alcocer; Carolina Plata, who Eva Ferrer pointed out as an alleged frontman; and the Italian Enrico Romagnoli, investigated for alleged corruption in Ecopetrol. Lancheros indicated that a flight to Venezuela on January 31, 2023, on a state aircraft Legacy FAC 1218, was the one Ferrer mentioned in statements to SEMANA. According to Ferrer, drugs would have been transported on that flight, and 2.5 million dollars had been brought from Venezuela. He also stated that the Catalan businessman Manel Grau told him that part of that money was intended to finance Fernández Alcocer's campaign for the governorship of Sucre in the 2023 regional and local elections. Ferrer added that, according to what he had been told, there would be photographs of Alcocer getting off the plane with gray suitcases and a movement of capital between both countries would have occurred. #Corrupción #Colombia #Ecopetrol (translated)
