Impact reported that a 31-year-old woman accused a police officer of sexual assault during a high school protest on Thursday, October 8, in front of Hélène-Boucher High School in Paris. She was participating in a chain of adults positioned between the police and the high school students. According to her account, an officer allegedly reached between two shields and rubbed her intimate parts for several seconds. Immobilized, she was unable to push him away. Her partner, a municipal official, allegedly confirmed that he heard her scream that she was being sexually assaulted before helping her escape. The woman then attempted to locate the officer but claimed that many police officers were not wearing their identification numbers. An ongoing investigation was opened after her complaint to the IGPN, according to Impact. #AgressionSexuelle #Justice #MobilisationLycéenne (translated)

Momar Assane called on President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Ousmane Sonko, Me Matar Cissé, and the prosecutor of the Republic to shed light on the death of Abdoulaye Ba. He wrote that eight months had passed without the truth being established and that the family, relatives, and public opinion were awaiting answers. Assane reminded that Sonko had stated in the National Assembly that he was involved in the decision-making chain. He also indicated that the prosecutor had said at his last press conference that investigations were ongoing but regretted the lack of concrete actions since that announcement. He cited the statements of Makhtar Cissé, presented as the Minister of National Interior, on the respect of the law by the defense and security forces and the refusal to put the authority of the State at the service of particular interests. Assane believed that justice should be able to exercise its mission independently and promised to reiterate this requirement every 9th of the month until clear answers were obtained. #JusticePourAbdoulayeBa #Vérité #Sénégal (translated)
