Valstij ir jāiejaucas tad, ja ir apdraudētas pamattiesības un pamatvajadzības. Kopējā pirktspēja pie ticamas ~5% inflācijas gada beigās būs tāda pati, kāda bija pērnā gada beigās. Draud tikai īslaicīga pirktspējas pieauguma apstāšanās pēc strauja kāpuma iepriekšējos trīs gados. - Nav iespējama fiskāli neitrāla degvielas nodokļu samazināšana. Importa izmaksu kāpums jau ir samazinājis patērētāju izdevumus citām precēm, attiecīgi nodokļu ieņēmumus no tām, turklāt pati valsts ir liela degvielas pircēja. Lielāki PVN ieņēmumi degvielas cenu kāpuma dēļ to nekompensē.
