Ida Gabrielsson 2d

Ida Gabrielsson wrote that the Left Party, unlike most other parties on the red-green side, had not campaigned primarily with the message of saying no to the Sweden Democrats (SD). According to her, the party had not repeatedly talked about an SD government, presented proposals for twelve SD ministers whom she described as more or less uncouth, or warned that Jimmie Åkesson could become prime minister. She wrote that the Left Party also believed that SD was wrong, but that voters needed to know what policies they were voting for. Gabrielsson thought that the negative campaigns and the political representatives' approach to each other had made it confusing to distinguish between SD and the other Tidö parties. She emphasized that the rhetoric had come from, among others, Ebba Busch, Simona Mohamsson, and moderate ministers, and that the politics had been presented jointly. According to Gabrielsson, the Left Party had therefore primarily focused on the policies it wanted to change. A campaign solely against SD risked, she wrote, appearing to target a group of people and giving someone the opportunity to adopt a victim role. She also believed it was contradictory to claim to be able to collaborate with everyone except SD, or preferably with the Tidö parties without SD, while campaigning on a different policy. Gabrielsson wrote that the Left Party had campaigned on its own policies and with Magdalena Andersson as a candidate for prime minister, well anchored in the red-green side. Therefore, according to her, the Left Party should not have to settle for having achieved a no to SD. #politik #Val2024 #rödgröna (translated)

Jan Lindberg wrote that a majority of voters in Sweden, according to him, wanted a socialist government with communists as ministers and Somalis in parliament. He described this as a stain on Swedish politics. #SvenskPolitik #Socialism #Val2022 (translated)

Greta Andersson wrote that the Tidö side would likely have won the election if the media had scrutinized Magdalena Andersson's chances of uniting the opposition and forming a government before the election. Instead, according to her, the focus had been on 12 SD ministers. #politik #val2022 #media (translated)

Ida Gabrielsson questioned after a discussion with Martin Ådahl whether there was any other party that the Center Party considered sufficiently acceptable. She wrote that C had tolerated the Social Democrats and the Green Party because they had previously agreed to govern with bourgeois economic policy so that C would not collaborate with the Sweden Democrats. At the same time, she argued, C had criticized S for its migration policy and rejected the Left Party despite V agreeing with C on the issue. Gabrielsson contrasted this with what she described as a contradiction in the Center Party's rhetoric on decency. She pointed to ministers from the Moderates whom she considered increasingly Trump-like and accused them of going after journalists and conducting negative campaigns, as well as statements from the KD leader, the right's talk of voters as voting cattle, and comments from Member of Parliament Lars Beckman (M) and Alice Teodorescu (KD), whom she described as conspiracy theorists. She wrote that Ådahl and C seemed to believe that the former alliance parties did not really support their current policy, but had been kidnapped by SD and deep down wanted to return to the era of Fredrik Reinfeldt. Gabrielsson argued that Ådahl and Magdalena Andersson seemed to think that the parties would return to the center when the Tidö cooperation ended. She called the view condescending and emphasized that the changes could also have been made deliberately and voluntarily. During the election campaign, Gabrielsson stated, she had spoken with a leading center-right politician from Stockholm about more people voting for SD in the area where she grew up. She recounted that she had highlighted material and social reasons for dissatisfaction and mentioned a neighbor who worked almost around the clock on his farm and cleared snow in half of Norrland during the winters. According to Gabrielsson, the center-right politician had responded that a difficult life did not excuse a vote for SD, as others with difficult lives did not vote for the party. Gabrielsson also relayed that her father, who grew up in Ockelbo, used to refer to C and the farmers as "the right aristocracy." On Tuesday, he had told her that he had closed the door on a DN Kultur journalist who wanted to discuss the family's background and life in the countryside and in the industrial town of Åmotsbruk. Her father had also criticized C as the worst party of the day and said he preferred the party when it was at least a farmers' party. Gabrielsson wrote that she had corrected him, but at the same time agreed that a party with 7 percent could be perceived as self-satisfied if it assumed that others would follow its line. #Centerpartiet #Sverige #politik (translated)

Mats Yxhäll wrote that the right wing had long asserted that the Social Democrats were trying to scare voters with the possibility that the Sweden Democrats would get ministers in a Tidö government, instead of talking about their own policies. He referred to criticism from party members against the election strategy's focus on the party leader and SD ministers at the expense of policy issues. Yxhäll also criticized Anders Ygeman's statement that the party would calmly evaluate the election and probably find both things it had done right and things it had done wrong. He asked what the Social Democrats had done right, referring to the fact that the party, according to him, had its lowest support ever. #politk #val2023 #Sverige (translated)

Thand Ringqvist continues the track on that “we have a new coalition with V and M” that now must be tested. Okay? 1. In light of the upset tones from the C leader, in such a non-political issue as a speaker election, it should be established that C will never join the Tidö coalition, SD ministers or not. Since even a vote for Norlén seems to be a red line for C. 2. Will V now be favored by S and try to be lured back? Since according to them, it is us and not C, who are part of this “coalition?” Kingmaker in the middle, etc.? 3. Can’t Thand Ringqvist, like Annie Lööf in 2018, get the exploratory mission? It could go as smoothly as possible! It’s unnecessary for others to explore when she has the answer within her. I mean, she doesn’t even need to meet anyone, barely go out, just decide which side she wants to govern with. Voila! Sweden has a new government, and we save on coffee and the bun too! #svpol #koalition #talmansval (translated)

A funny twist would of course be if M-KD-L (31 percent) offered S (28 percent) to become a partner in a center-right led minority government. Twelve S ministers! The anger would likely have entertainment value until Christmas. #politik #Sverige #regering (translated)

"S has not pushed Swedish politics forward in 30 years. Rather, they have dragged themselves along after the right, complained about details (some should have a job tax deduction but not all, there should be a 14-year age of criminal responsibility, not 13) and threatened with twelve SD ministers." https://t.co/OlnVesIM68 #svpol #politik #Sverige (translated)

For my part, it can take a couple of years to form a new government. For the classical liberal in me, it's like Christmas Eve with a caretaker government: Finally, a regime that lets us be at peace! THE ELDERS The newly elected Member of Parliament for the Left Party, Illyas Hassan, was in eighth place on the party's list in Stockholm. His campaign among Somali voters was organized by a small circle of men in Stockholm who are called "the elders" in the Somali public. This group has built its reputation over the past fifteen years through fundraising, sports, and hosting foreign visitors. They receive Somali ministers in Stockholm and have personal connections to individuals who have held security positions in Mogadishu. #svpol #somalia #politik (translated)

Resultatet blev partiets sämsta val i modern tid. Ibland är facit ganska pedagogiskt. https://t.co/Xw2KfLZbNy #politik #Sverige #val

Valkansliet i Stockholm stad polisanmäler valfusk.
