It is finished in its initial form. But a turnaround and a catch-up operation a few hours later. Just before midnight, a statement from General Fabien Mandon provides some clarifications. This time, it is no longer a German departure from the project that is mentioned, but a "shift" in the program, with service commencement "delayed towards the end of the 2040s." According to the Chief of Staff, the MGCS "is continued and retains a major interest refocused on the development of enhanced connectivity, collaborative combat, automation, and robotization." So, is the MGCS dead? "It is finished in its initial form," states Paul Maurice, Secretary General of the Franco-German Relations Study Committee at Ifri (French Institute of International Relations). #MGCS #Défense #FrancoAllemand (translated)

Hasheur condemned the accumulation of new reporting obligations, data leaks, security issues, and tax rules targeting crypto investors in France. He also criticized a proposal that would make the declaration of large portfolios mandatory, arguing that sharing this sensitive information in the current security context would expose investors. However, he welcomed the possibility of deferring capital losses over ten years. On the other hand, he found concerning the amendment that would make the transition from a cryptocurrency to a stablecoin taxable. According to him, this measure would eliminate tax flexibility, allowing investors to secure their gains without paying tax immediately before withdrawing their profits. Hasheur clarified that the amendment, brought by Nicolas Sansu and deputies from the GDR group, including communists, had been adopted in the finance committee on October 7, but that it had not yet been definitively voted on and therefore had no force of law. He felt that the direction taken was not reassuring and stated that he could no longer believe that the situation made sense. #Crypto #Fiscalité #Investissement (translated)

Etienne Marcuz wrote that the strategic oceanic force had conducted a launch of an M51.3 missile that very morning from the nuclear submarine Le Vigilant. According to him, this launch validated the ship's return to operational cycle after three years of maintenance and constituted the first operational launch of the M51.3 from a submarine. He specified that the launch in November 2023 was a qualification test conducted from the DGA land test center. Marcuz indicated that he created an infographic with CalvaireDrach, presenting the stages of the launch, from the transmission of the order to the impact of the re-entry vehicles — without their nuclear payload — in the Atlantic Ocean, 4,700 kilometers west of the launch area. He explained that the diagram was based on American documents and that differences might exist between the French M51 and the American Trident II D5 systems, even though their general principles were common. He added that the technical details concerned were protected by confidentiality and requested that CalvaireDrach be credited in case of reuse of the infographic. #M51 #Missile #ForceOcéaniqueStrategique (translated)

In accordance with the applicable legislation governing this matter, these procedures are subject to the outcome of the criminal case currently being heard in Spain and will continue to be so.
