Michał Dworczyk reported that a draft law on mandatory military training for parliamentarians has been submitted to the Sejm. He wrote that it would apply to members of the Sejm and Senate up to 60 years of age, including MEPs, and would last for 58 days: 30 days of theoretical classes at the War Studies Academy and 28 days of field training. Parliamentarians could apply for alternative service, for example in the medical sector, and submit applications to the Marshal of the Sejm or Senate. The proposal would also foresee the possibility of parliamentarians serving in the Territorial Defense Forces, similar to the National Guard in the USA. Dworczyk justified the proposal by the need for universal defense training and the preparation of personnel reserves. He wrote that the Development Plus Association was the first to raise this issue, and politicians should set an example and serve the public interest. According to him, additional training would improve the quality of defense policy and demonstrate that individuals seeking office are ready to fulfill the constitutional duty of defending the homeland. #szkoleniewojskowe #Polska #obrona (translated)
