David Rangl shared part of the speech by writer Radka Denemarková at the opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair, where Czech Republic was the guest of honor, and urged people to read. In her speech, Denemarková stated that, in her opinion, one cannot separate politics from literature at a time when Europe is heading towards authoritarianism, the power ambitions of individuals can plunge a state into chaos, and two former collaborators of the communist State Security are part of the Czech government. According to her, democracy has been limited by society to business and economic pragmatism. She also mentioned the threat that continental China poses to free Taiwan, the defense of Ukrainian freedom at the cost of many human lives, and the normalization of new fascisms, totalitarianisms, and genocides. #literatura #politika #Frankfurtskýknižníveletrh (translated)

Democracy Didi criticized that the Federal Republic is not drawing the right conclusions from its recent history with two totalitarian regimes. He pointed to what he sees as contradictory restrictions on freedom of opinion and assembly, such as police visits due to a wrongly circulated post or bans on gatherings due to the risk of a cold. He also contrasted the rejection of the Gestapo and Stasi with the existence of a domestic intelligence service and criticized restrictions on same-sex expressions of affection in public. He cited the conflict between property rights and social housing needs, as well as the potential closeness of prosecutors to a Minister of the Interior as further examples. Given German history, he wrote, this makes no sense to him. #Meinungsfreiheit #Grundrechte #Totalitarismus (translated)

Lulism has discovered that the Christian voter doesn't swallow fake news and is now trying to divide Catholics and evangelicals. Dino and the PT machine play dirty with the faith of others. The decent Brazilian reacts because they know that the left only respects religion when it can be instrumentalized. Religious freedom is not a detail: it is a brake on the cultural totalitarianism that the PT has promoted for decades. #LiberdadeReligiosa #Eleições2024 #Fakenews (translated)
Elina on paraatiesimerkki siitä kuinka sosiaalisella piilokontrollilla yhteiskuntaa hivutetaan totalitarismiin. #vrijheidvanmeningsuiting #desinformatie #gezondheidszorg
