Polona Rifelj asked why journalists do not ask specific individuals for their payroll and the amount of taxes paid in response to claims that foreigners in Slovenia pay taxes. If she is the owner or director of a company, they would also be interested in its operations, the taxes paid on profits, and any potential blockades, executions, or criminal charges. They should also ask her if she receives child benefits and in what amount, whether she pays for kindergarten, whether she lives in a non-profit apartment and under what conditions, and what kind of car she drives based on reported income, she noted. According to her, the answers would show whether she respects the Slovenian legal order, fulfills tax obligations, and under what conditions she benefits from a system that has been funded by taxpayers for decades. They should also show whether she deserves the right to vote, she added. #Slovenija #Davki #Novinarstvo (translated)
