Mateusz Morawiecki criticized the morning briefing convened by Prime Minister Tusk, which involved ministers, heads of services, and representatives of state institutions. He wrote that less information was shared after the meeting with the public than before and called for concrete actions for the safety of children. Morawiecki expressed concern regarding the tragic events and extended condolences to the families of the victims and those affected. He also thanked teachers, rescuers, and officials. He claimed that for three years he has been warning about the harmful influence of smartphones, algorithms, and social media on children, highlighting access to hate, violence, manipulation, and dangerous content. He described the ban on phones in schools as insufficient, as children still use devices after classes. He informed that Rozwój Plus proposed a ban on social media usage for individuals under 15 years of age, to be enforced by platforms, as well as severe financial penalties and legal liability for digital companies regarding harmful content and deceptive advertisements. He also advocated for support for parents, teachers, and educators. Morawiecki emphasized that protecting children should not lead to the restriction of adults' freedom of speech, and he opposed solutions that would allow for preventive censorship. He demanded from the Prime Minister specific draft laws, deadlines for their implementation, and identification of those responsible for their execution. He assessed that the safety of children would not be ensured by further briefings, but by decisions and responsibility. #BezpieczeństwoDzieci #Polska #Rodzice (translated)

Today we cannot block content; we must address the court with a polite request to the owner of the platform or the operator of that platform. If today a young knife-wielder were to broadcast a crime on the Internet, we would not be able to block that content because we haven't been given that legal tool — said Tusk. #BezpieczeństwoInternetowe #PrzemocWyszkołach #TuskVSNawrocki (translated)
