Anthropic catching misuse is welcome, but leaving private companies to self-police technology that can enable biological and weapon development is dangerous — Congress and international bodies must impose strict, transparent safety rules, mandatory reporting, and a temporary slowdown on frontier models to protect public health and democracy.
