Tadej Ostrc

Tadej Ostrc highlighted questions of journalistic ethics, responsibility, and the credibility of information in light of recent events. He stated that the day before, he publicly displayed original working materials from the minister's office on the show Odmevi and left them with the editorial staff of RTV Slovenia. According to his information, the media that reported for several days about the alleged lifting of the ban did not attempt to obtain the original document from the Ministry of Health and verify whether they were dealing with the same version of the material. Ostrc added that journalistic freedom also brings the responsibility to fact-check and inform the public correctly. https://t.co/iMDWXB0yc4 #novinarstvo #etika #demokracija (translated)

Tadej Ostrc stated that he did not propose lifting the ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces, in school playgrounds, or in cars when children are present, nor did he propose lifting the ban on flavors in electronic cigarettes. He emphasized that these changes have not been confirmed and are not part of his health policy guidelines. He described the document that became public as an incomplete working draft, not as an approved proposal from the Ministry of Health. He mentioned that the existing protective provisions of tobacco legislation will be maintained and incorporated into a new regulation, and that the circumstances of the preparation and submission of the document will be verified. He highlighted the goal of more effective prevention, reducing the harmful effects of alcohol and tobacco, and protecting children and adolescents. #zdravje #preventiva #tobak (translated)
