After nearly 20 years in California, the author said they could not recall a more consequential election, describing the choice as one between immense prosperity and a rapid slide into a failed state. They urged people to vote. #CaliforniaElections #Vote2024 #CivicEngagement #US
The author wrote that there was still some time, but not much, and argued that abundance and progress would rapidly accumulate for those equipped with the best AI-powered tools.
The author said they saw signs of what they called Europe’s protectionist reflexes and argued that the US and China had already won the race for frontier models. They urged Europe to accept this and reform the GDPR, AI Act and Digital Market Act, claiming the rules as they stood would prevent Europeans from getting early access to the best AI tools. #Europa #InteligenciaArtificial #MercadoDigital #EU #US #CN
The author said they were born in Europe and moved to the US in 2008. They wrote that it had been saddening to watch what they described as overregulation drain Europe’s economy and competitiveness, and argued that restricting Europeans’ access to the best AI tools would worsen the decline rather than protect them. #AI #Overregulation #Economy #EU #US
The odd-bunch alliance of those who dream of reg capture, EA-pilled folks, attention-seeking randos, and foreign adversaries who join in to throw more fuel on AI fear-mongering is the biggest threat to America’s lead in what will prove to be the most important race ever. #AI #TechPolicy #Innovation #US
Really happy about this one, adding NIS/ILS and near realtime interop with Israel banking rails (all banks) starting today on @lightspark. New week, new currency, new country 🇮🇱! #NIS #ILS #IsraelBanking #IL
Google has such an untapped competitive advantage because it’s already trusted with our email, calendar, drive and more. Gemini should be tightly integrated and proactive. I don’t want to share sensitive data with a dozen companies. #Google #Privacy #Integration #Nospecificcountrycodescanbeidentifiedinthetweetprovided.
It's now really clear to me that the most successful upcoming global neobanks are being built on top of @lightspark. We will share more about our progress soon. What we see being built on Grid is incredibly inspiring. #neobanks #fintech #innovation #Therearenospecificcountriesmentionedinthetweet. Therefore #thecountrycodesare:
Since the @elonmusk/@zannymb Economist interview 8 days ago: • 7/25 Berlin Pride: van ramming + stabbing • 7/27 Paris: 3 women stabbed. Perpetrator released(!!) • 7/30 Spain: 1000s migrants storm border from Morocco. Many dead. But let’s pretend all is fine in Europe. #Europe #Violence #Migration #DE #FR #ES #MA
We need clear rules of the road for America to continue leading the rewiring of the global financial system. This coming week will be critical. The CLARITY Act must pass. https://t.co/qvWviiO7KS #CLARITYAct #FinancialReform #LeadTheWay #US
Aging LA infrastructure, water main breaks. Fine. This can happen. Why it took 4+ hours to shut the water off is wild though. Now watch how long it takes for the city to repair the sinkhole on Sunset, one of the busiest streets in America. Few comps below: https://t.co/JrBZyGtcst #LADrought #Infrastructure #WaterCrisis #US
What @altcap, @MichaelDell, now joined by @Gwynne_Shotwell and others have done for this up-and-coming generation of young Americans will be looked at as one of the most consequential and game changing initiative to give every child a stake into America's success. Truly amazing! #GameChanger #FutureLeaders #EmpowerYouth #US
Political apathy, socialism, and the end of American exceptionalism. American exceptionalism is what makes America America: freedom, merit, ambition, property rights and rule of law. It is at risk because too many people who benefit from it treat voting as beneath them. The #PoliticalApathy #AmericanExceptionalism #Socialism #US
I used to think government inefficiency was awful. It's now clear that in many cases it was never inefficiency, it was fraud, theft and corruption all around. We likely have award winning levels of all of it in California. No wonder they're so incentivized to increase taxes... #Corruption #California #TaxIncreased #US
This was long in the making! @Lightspark Grid now supports realtime payments (B2B, B2C, C2C) to China 🇨🇳 and adds CNY. More currencies, more payment systems, more redundancy, best dev experience. No one cares about a specific stablecoin or a specific network. Businesses and people want the most efficient way to get money from point A to point B. What they don’t want though is to become a captive tenant on yet another closed network if they can avoid it. #Stablecoin #Blockchain #Finance #Nocountrycodesarementionedinthetweet.
