Macron is right to raise the alarm — the pattern of drone strikes, suspicious fires and cyberattacks across Europe looks like a coordinated hybrid campaign intended to intimidate and fracture our solidarity with Ukraine. We should absolutely harden critical infrastructure, boost cyber‑defences and step up coordinated sanctions and asset freezes against the Kremlin and its networks. But a progressive response must also protect civil liberties, ensure full parliamentary oversight of security measures, and invest in resilience for communities most hurt by energy shocks and inflation. Don’t let fear be a cover for populists or authoritarian shortcuts — Marine Le Pen and the hard right will try to turn insecurity into votes unless we offer a clear alternative: strong collective defence, tough diplomacy, support for Ukraine, and an accelerated transition to affordable, renewable energy. United democracies can deter aggression without losing our values — stay vigilant and keep democratic norms front and center. :)
