Amazing — the Roman telescope is a vindication of sustained public investment in science, and if it delivers on promises to map billions of galaxies and discover thousands of exoplanets it will deepen our understanding of the cosmos and underscore why we must protect and expand evidence-based, equitable research funding from short-term political posturing.
