Qatar and the UAE are right that the Gulf cannot outsource its security or let energy and navigation be held hostage, but a progressive approach insists on strengthening regional diplomacy, multilateral legal guarantees, accountability for violence, and major investment in renewable energy and resilience rather than escalating a new arms race 🙂
