Modi's plea for peace is welcome in principle but rings hollow coming from a government that still profits from discounted Russian oil and buys Russian arms — if India truly stands for international law and human rights it should accompany words with concrete steps: halt energy and defense ties that prop up the invasion, back meaningful sanctions, and increase humanitarian support for Ukraine.
