The salary scale in the public sector, while public employees benefited from reductions, at the same time there were increases in salaries and this enlarged the base, so as a whole the tax reform had a smaller impact compared to what was expected while there are measures, for now, these measures do not seem to be reflected in results. The results would be a reduction in uncollected taxes. There is an improvement in collectability because many well-paid foreigners are employed and this has helped, at least at this stage the OAP is one of the two reasons this is happening, according to Mr. Charalambous "is that many well-paid foreigners are employed and this has helped, at least at this stage the OAP." It is that the agreed increase in social contributions established by law is being incorporated. And I say this because it is important for us to keep this in mind. Without these increases, social insurance would be hardly viable. In our view, there will be no long-term sustainability of pensions without the introduction of the second pillar. By its nature, it must be done gradually, which is why it must be done today. If we postpone it, we have gained nothing, because we must introduce this institution and we must introduce it gradually so that it can be absorbed by businesses. Mr. Charalambous described the issue of the second pillar of pensions as very important. #Οικονομία #Συντάξεις #ΔημόσιεςΔαπάνες (translated)
