Jana Dubová recalled that Václav Havel would have turned 90 today. She remembered seeing him for the first time a few days after November 1989 when she was a student. Until then, she had only known him from texts, stories, and broadcasts from Voice of America; at home, his name was spoken cautiously according to her. At that time, Havel arrived in a Mercedes, wore a khaki jacket, and was smoking. Dubová described him as a little awkward and unusual, but above all human: he laughed, chatted with people, and joked. She herself was too shy to ask him anything back then, and today she would give a lot for that moment. At that time, she had no idea that Havel would soon become president. However, she remembered him most from that encounter, not from Prague Castle or television, and she still considered him a great man. (translated)
