Steven Cercamondi wrote that Margaret Hamilton, whom he referred to as the "woman of the Moon," had passed away at the age of 90. He described a photograph in which Hamilton appeared next to the lists of software developed by the team she led for the lunar module and the command module of the Apollo 11 mission. According to Cercamondi, that software managed critical functions such as flight control, navigation, data, communications, and safety, and was designed to handle emergencies and failures by providing real-time feedback to the astronauts. He also credited Hamilton with introducing an error management approach based on "interrupts," which allowed for timely detection and management of problems. He wrote that the team's code had provided the foundations for the safe operation of space missions and concluded with a message of condolence. #MargaretHamilton #NASA #Apollo11 (translated)
