"Sometimes the political desire is so great that the constitution is forgotten. All the decisions I have had to make stem from that, but I do not consider it boasting to say, look, I have postponed so much. Rather, it is a concern. And I have always emphasized that the parliament or the Riigikogu could do its work better, delve deeper," said President Alar Karis. #AlarKaris #EestiVälispoliitika #Poliitika (translated)

"I am very pleased that the graphics went very well, as did the sculptural objects and ceramics," said Maarin Ektermann, president of the Estonian Artists' Union, adding that the result exceeded all expectations in the landscape of Estonian art auctions. #EestiKunst #KunstnikeLiit #Oksjon (translated)

"When planning the auction, we did not dare to hope that it would cover the entire 700,000 euro loss, as art auctions are unpredictable. Therefore, we cut union expenses and looked for other ways to free ourselves from the loan burden. But thanks to the people who decided to purchase the pearls of the art collection and donated works, as well as strongly support the artists and the union, we can now pay our obligations ahead of schedule and think through plans on how to best support our members and Estonian art life," said Ektermann. #EestiKunst #KunstnikeLiit #Toetusoksjon (translated)

Henri Vanhanen wrote that Finland had paid billions of euros because, in his opinion, the geopolitical risks posed by Russia were not taken seriously in time. He referred to Fortum's Uniper transactions, in which he claimed nearly six billion euros were lost, as well as Rosatom's assertion that it had won the arbitration concerning the Hanhikivi nuclear power project against Fennovoima. Vanhanen noted that the final resolution and possible compensation were still unclear. Vanhanen said the losses were in the billions and had also been a detriment to taxpayers. According to him, lessons should have been learned from these cases that geopolitics and security policy could not be separated from economic decision-making. He wrote that warnings about Russia's aggression had been issued for years, but economic interests often outweighed them, and he felt that Finland could no longer afford to ignore the realities of global politics until the billion-euro bill arrived. https://t.co/Omv0fRGsLq #geopolitiikka #turvallisuuspolitiikka #Suomi (translated)
