Speciaal bericht voor de haters die graag willen dat ik snel (en pijnlijk) sterf. Ik heb slecht nieuws voor jullie. Een bloedtest liet vandaag zien dat mijn PSA (marker voor kanker) opnieuw is gedaald. Een PET-CT-scan (dat is een scan van het hele lijf) liet eerder al zien dat de kanker 'minder tot veel minder' is geworden. Met andere woorden: de behandelingen en de chemo slaan goed aan. Mijn behandelteam merkte wel op dat de vijfde chemo een behoorlijk zware tik heeft uitgedeeld, vandaar dat we de zesde chemo een weekje later doen. Een scan in december moet uitwijzen hoe de 'eindstand' is na zes keer chemo. En dan mag ik gaan herstellen. Maar liever haters, treur niet! Er is hoop! Een en ander wil namelijk niet zeggen dat ik genezen ben. Dat gaat niet meer. Maar voorlopig ben ik er nog wel even.
