I really like Iraq. A great country where you stumble upon history at every turn, mostly nice and hospitable people, and in the end, I fell in love with the local cuisine. Today, the last American soldiers who were here as part of the fight against the Islamic State are withdrawing from Iraq. Thus ends a twelve-year-long war, which the terrorists waged without any rules and on whose bloody account the vast majority of the victims are civilians, often barbarically tortured. But who cares about Iraq today, the Yazidis, the Kurds… I will never get Iraq out of my head. I will always have in front of my eyes a number of friends I made there, and sometimes some of the more dramatic moments of my stays there come back to me at night.
