Marie accused Fredrik Lindström of serious historical revisionism. She claimed that the USA did not have open borders in the same way as Sweden, and wrote that the loyalty of immigrants to the USA was the most important. According to Marie, there were no benefits, but those who came needed to work. #historierevisionism #USA #immigration (translated)

Kristina wrote that Karl Oskar and Kristina did not encounter any welfare state, but had to build a hut and arrange for shelter, warmth, and food before winter themselves. She called it an essential detail in connection with Lindström comparing their situation to today's tax-funded asylum reception. #historia #välfärd #integration (translated)

Jan Sjunnesson wrote that SVT continued its educational mission and that Master Lindström the day before had described Karl Oskar and Kristina as refugees when they traveled to America. Sjunnesson argued that this image would slowly be ingrained. https://t.co/FFPAGGQXFm #SVT #Historia #Folkbildning (translated)

Carl Eos wrote that Fredrik Lindström had referred to Swedish emigrants to the USA as refugees on På spåret the day before and asserted that the designation was incorrect. Eos referred to a definition of refugees as persons outside their country of citizenship due to well-founded fear of persecution, who cannot or will not seek the protection of that country. According to Eos, one did not become a refugee merely by leaving one's country. He described Swedish emigrants, such as those in Vilhelm Moberg's books, as emigrants and wrote that they primarily left Sweden for economic reasons. He added that it might be possible to argue that certain Christians in other European countries had fled religious persecution. Eos believed that it was politically motivated to call Moberg's emigrants refugees and described it as an attempt to rewrite history for political reasons. He called the reasoning "purely Orwellian." #flyktingar #utvandrare #historie (translated)

€ KaufOPTION.
