In the end, there were two things about this game that were really cool. On the one hand, we had over 58,000 people in the stadium. That's absolutely sensational. On the other hand, we were able to win. However, that wasn't due to how we presented ourselves before the break. I didn't like the way we played. That's why there's a lot to do for us. We will demand that from the boys in the coming weeks. Hertha coach Stefan Leitl (49) put it succinctly: "In the end, there were two things about this game that were really cool. On the one hand, we had over 58,000 people in the stadium. That's absolutely sensational. On the other hand, we were able to win. However, that wasn't due to how we presented ourselves before the break. I didn't like the way we played. That's why there's a lot to do for us. Nacho Montes de Oca wrote that Donald Trump had announced an immediate energy truce between Russia and Ukraine and had assured that both parties accepted it. According to him, Volodymyr Zelensky responded that he was not aware of the agreement and requested clarification on when the ceasefire would begin if Trump had negotiated it with Vladimir Putin. Montes de Oca added that Zelensky conditioned any pause on Russia stopping the bombings against the Ukrainian electrical and energy grid and on real guarantees being signed. He also noted that Russia had not yet commented. #Ucrania #Rusia #EstadosUnidos (translated)

We have not yet arrived where we want to be. It should never be 2:2 at halftime. We need to talk about that. And Robert Andrich addressed it directly: "We have not yet arrived where we want to be. Furkan Yildirim wrote that the US Treasury could auction fewer long-term government bonds as early as November and possibly discontinue the 20-year term altogether. According to Yildirim, Citigroup expects Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent to announce a $3 billion reduction in auctions for 20- and 30-year bonds each on November 4. The financing gap is to be closed with government securities maturing within a year at the latest. The department may also ask large banks next week whether pension funds now prefer bonds from Amazon, Meta, and Alphabet to those of the state. The 20-year bond was reintroduced in 2020 after a 34-year hiatus and now offers nearly 5.7 percent interest, more than any other US maturity. At the end of 2020, its yield was just under 1.5 percent. At the same time, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, and SpaceX had already issued dollar bonds amounting to more than $180 billion in 2026; according to Yildirim, Amazon's bonds extend to 2076. According to asset manager TwentyFour, which Yildirim cited, Japanese investors are now receiving enough interest at home to invest their money there. Citi strategist Jason Williams wrote that pension funds may currently be more inclined than usual to invest in long-term corporate bonds of good quality. However, BNP Paribas strategists doubted that smaller auctions would reduce the government's financing costs. Yildirim also pointed out that the yield on 10-year US bonds serves as a basis for mortgages and many other loans, and Bessent had referred to it as an important measure of his success. With an annual deficit of nearly $2 trillion, the debt burden continues to grow as competition for long-term buyers increases. #Finanzen #Anleihen #Wirtschaft (translated)

Ledarsidorna.se questioned whether Magdalena Andersson was suitable as prime minister and government builder. The writer described their personal image of her as fundamentally positive but criticized her actions in security policy issues. The writer pointed out that Andersson had said in spring 2022 that Swedish NATO membership would destabilize the region before she reportedly changed her stance when Finland moved toward membership. Ledarsidorna.se also referred to an interview in Politico where Andersson allegedly wanted a future government to place greater importance on "the global south." The writer claimed that this aligned with Vladimir Putin's interests and highlighted Russia's actions towards the Baltic states. The post also mentioned that Morgan Johansson, according to Ledarsidorna.se, had stated that the Social Democrats wanted to pause an association agreement with the EU. The writer asserted that this would undermine Sweden's and NATO's northern flank defense capability, as Israeli Elbit Systems was the main supplier of communication systems to the Swedish and Finnish armies. Ledarsidorna.se also criticized that five Social Democratic members of the European Parliament had voted against a resolution to counter Islamist entryism in the EU. The writer claimed, referencing their sources, that the decision had been made by the Social Democrats' executive committee on Sveavägen 68. The post stated that Andersson and the committee had a different assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood than French and German intelligence and security services, without providing the basis for this. The writer concluded by asserting that there were good reasons to ask whether Andersson wanted what was best for Sweden and the Swedish people. #svpol #Sverige #politik #Socialdemokraterna (translated)
