Angelo Mangiante wrote that Jannik Sinner had chosen a cautious approach to regain his best form and protect his future, avoiding a rushed return. According to Mangiante, the problem was an extra-articular tendon inflammation in the right knee: a condition that is not severe but has long healing times and risks of relapse and chronicization. Mangiante noted that Sinner's last appearance in a tournament was the Wimbledon final on July 12 against Zverev. Since then, he wrote, the tennis player had missed five events: the Montreal and Cincinnati Masters 1000, the US Open, the Beijing tournament, and the Shanghai tournament. According to Mangiante, Sinner would maintain the top spot in the ranking until October 18, but he risked being surpassed by Zverev if the German had won both in Beijing and Shanghai. The author added that Sinner would defend the titles he won the previous year in Vienna, Paris, and at the ATP Finals, and that he would return to the court only once he reached full fitness. #Tennis #Atleta #Prudenza (translated)
