Don Ricardo Salinas Pliego said that, for Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, living in a convent had not been a confinement, but a way to guarantee her freedom to study, write, and gather a personal library of more than 4,000 books. In a publication of "Thursday's CollectionsRSP," he presented the first edition of *Fame and Posthumous Works of the Phoenix of Mexico...*, printed in Madrid in 1700, five years after the writer's death. According to Salinas Pliego, the work compiled the thoughts of one of the most prominent figures of the colonial period. He also stated that Sor Juana, self-taught and of exceptional intellect, defended women as bearers of reason and knowledge through her poetry. He invited people to consult the work and the library's collection on its new microsite. https://t.co/BnOwsroYC3 #SorJuanaInésDeLaCruz #Literatura #Biblioteca (translated)

Friends: On this occasion, I present to you my new book: People. The previous one, Greatness, is about the joy of living in a country with deep cultural roots, values, and spirituality. For this last one, I initially thought of naming it Glory to tell the also fruitful political history of Mexico. However, I decided, with the same purpose, to call it People, although the mere word may cause discomfort to some who forget that in a true democracy, the sovereign, the one who rules, forgive me for repeating it, is the people. With these two books, I conclude the foundation of what we call Mexican Humanism, a conception and alternative model applied by the Fourth Transformation movement, whose essence can be defined in one phrase: for the good of all, first the poor. https://t.co/O7kpIHMTcP #LiteraturaMexicana #Humanismo #CuartaTransformación (translated)
