Dr Nina Kojima 2d

Dr. Nina Kojima wrote that it was justified to express dissatisfaction and distrust towards the political direction of RTV Slovenia and to call for a fundamental reform of the public service. She expected the government to implement the reform differently than former Prime Minister Golob, who had announced a "cleaning of RTV Janšism." She added that she was the first on the list herself. Kojima accused former Minister of Culture Asta Vrečko of not protecting her, even though, according to her, RTV Slovenia fell under the jurisdiction of the ministry. She wrote that Vrečko, based on the information she had, was looking forward to the list of those who were laid off. She claimed that they were politically removed, sidelined, and harmed, also describing the insulting attitude towards them. She emphasized that the abolition of the RTV fee would not in itself mean the reform for which, in her view, strategy, effort, and determination were needed. According to her, Slovenia needs a national media that serves the public, reports according to fundamental journalistic principles, and prioritizes facts over comments from ideological speakers. Kojima also wrote that she had lived and grown up with RTV for at least four decades and that the employees were mostly creative, hardworking, and decent intellectuals. Before the referendum, she urged people to consider the consequences of past layoffs for individuals, children, and families. She expressed a wish that she and her family would be among the few affected, and that her former colleagues and their families would not have to endure similar experiences. In conclusion, she called for a public service and government that would act virtuous and not vindictively. #Slovenija #RTV #javniservis (translated)

Vasja 3d

Vasja labeled the referendum debate on RTV as a clear example of why RTV should be abolished. He wrote that journalists, in his opinion, do not understand that their role is to moderate and present diverse opinions, not to participate in the discussion or highlight positions they agree with or from which they have financial benefits. #RTV #referendum #novinarstvo (translated)

Jana Gržinič 3d

Jana Gržinič wrote that a member of the RTV management publicly supported 4XPROTI, and the president of the RTV Council was said to have participated in campaigns for this option. She added that RTV journalists participated in a protest against the government, and the next day prepared reports that they presented as independent. She believed that despite this, they are declared independent and professional, and argued that there are no similar cases elsewhere in Europe. In this context, she expressed support for the 4XZA option. #RTV #protest #neodvisnost (translated)

Polona Rifelj 4d

Polona Rifelj asked why journalists do not ask specific individuals for their payroll and the amount of taxes paid in response to claims that foreigners in Slovenia pay taxes. If she is the owner or director of a company, they would also be interested in its operations, the taxes paid on profits, and any potential blockades, executions, or criminal charges. They should also ask her if she receives child benefits and in what amount, whether she pays for kindergarten, whether she lives in a non-profit apartment and under what conditions, and what kind of car she drives based on reported income, she noted. According to her, the answers would show whether she respects the Slovenian legal order, fulfills tax obligations, and under what conditions she benefits from a system that has been funded by taxpayers for decades. They should also show whether she deserves the right to vote, she added. #Slovenija #Davki #Novinarstvo (translated)

Jože Možina 7d

Jože Možina wrote that he refused to grant clemency to Rosvita Pesek and expected professional responsibility from her. He claimed that RTV Slovenia did not report impartially during the four years of litigation in the dispute between him and Svetlana Makarovič, and that the segment in the show Odmevi omitted his key arguments and recorded statement. Možina stated that the public was presented with a distorted image of the reasons for his lawsuit, as specific insults that are the subject of the dispute were not mentioned, in his words. He added that the events were accurately reported by other media, including POP TV, Siol, Domovina, Planet TV, Info360, Nova24, N1, Slovenske novice, and Delo. He also referred to the position of the Association of Journalists and Publicists. He criticized the response of the host of Odmevi, Rosvita Pesek, and editor of the show, Aleš Malerič, and assessed that a correction and an apology would be appropriate. He emphasized that he is seeking judicial protection to defend his good name, the freedom of the journalistic profession, and the culture of communication. #Novinarstvo #Mediji #Slovenija (translated)

Rok Ravnikar 1w

Rok Ravnikar accused RTV Slovenia of not fulfilling its mission of balanced reporting and presenting different views. He wrote that more than which side it supports, he is concerned about the loss of space for the exchange of opinions and confrontation in a democratic republic. He compared two television debates. Last November, during the referendum on euthanasia, he participated in a debate where, according to him, the time was evenly divided between supporters and opponents. There were supposed to be considerably more opponents, so each was given about 45 seconds, while supporters had two minutes each. In a debate about one of the four current referendums, they announced that each participant would get 40 seconds. Ravnikar asked why RTV Slovenia changed the criteria for time distribution, as the same time for each side and the same time for each speaker with a different number of participants would mean a different ratio between the sides. He added that as an active citizen, he expects a response from the journalistic, media, and legal professions. In this context, he cited the stance of Levitsky and Ziblatt from the book *How Democracies Die?*, that changing the rules to one's own benefit and to the detriment of opponents is characteristic of authoritarian regimes. #mediji #demokracija #poročašnje (translated)

More than 2000 words blame how the public @rtvslo does not fulfill its mission of balanced reporting and presenting different views. You cannot make a bigger anti-ad. And it is the least important which side I support - what worries and saddens me the most is that as a democratic republic we are losing the space for exchange and confrontation. Why do you think of the "others" as so stupid? When did the attitude towards the "others" change so much? Yes, I ask you, who prepare the program. I understand, you have your own agenda and your own views, but in a democratic community mutual respect is a fundamental value. Twenty years ago, I worked as a PR person in politics. Even then, we knew who belonged where and which uncle from the background had more influence. But I felt that those of us on the ground, who were in direct contact – journalists, editors, and PR people – respected each other on a professional level. When I participated in a debate last November about the referendum on euthanasia, the time was evenly divided between the "FOR" side and the "AGAINST" side. There were significantly more opponents at that time, so each of us got, if I remember correctly, 45 seconds. Most barely managed to present one thought. On the other side, the supporters had two minutes. There were also some pretty bizarre embarrassments, as some could not come up with enough arguments for a two-minute speech. Last night, I heard an introductory announcement at a debate about one of the four current referendums that each speaker would get 40 seconds. Seriously? So back then equal time for both sides, now equal time for each speaker. These are different criteria, which with a different number of participants also mean a different distribution of time between both sides. Why did you change the criterion? I am just an active citizen, I expect that the journalistic, media, and legal professions will provide their criticism and assessment. "Changing the rules to your advantage and adjusting the conditions to the detriment of opponents is one of the basic characteristics of authoritarian powers." Yes. For me, who comes from the left center, it is also a sad fact that all opinion leaders of the "left" and journalists, who also rank on the left, hide in silence when something much less offensive is said by @ZanMahnic, while everyone screams until exhaustion. #bljak (translated)

No, @SasoDolenc včasih res zapiše popolne neumnosti.

#Slovenija #vlada #novinarstvo

Kitajci kupijo Gorenje. Priznam. Globalna tiskovna konferenca, novinarji z vseh celin, kamere, prevajalci, cel svet gleda. In Kitajci so ključe tega odra dali Slovencem. Vodja umetne inteligence. Onidve sta ta program spisali, testirali, popravljali, dokler ni bil pravi. In potem sta pekli. S savinjskim naglasom in brez pretiravanja: daleč najboljša pizza, kar sem jih jedel. Ne na sejmu. Kjerkoli. Nemec ob meni je vzel tretji kos in nehal spraševati o vatih. Malo naprej Anže. Pomivalni stroji. Sva se pol ure pogovarjala o sistemih šob. Pol ure! Vsi Slovenci. Mladi. Izobraženi. In navdušeni. Leta 2020 so odpuščali. Vse res. Ampak to so opombe pod črto. Zato še enkrat, pa naj me obtožijo, česar hočejo. Ponosen. Ganjen.

In prav to je žalosten odraz dela slovenskega medijskega prostora. #Beda #Mediji #Politika #Slovenija
