The author wrote that dissociation was the most common psychological issue but had no medication treatment. They speculated that drugs had been developed and tested but rejected because reducing dissociation could be destabilising and make them appear poorly tolerated in trials.

The author wrote that people who made trauma central to their identity could have a better prognosis for recovery because they were more likely to persist, while others might eventually dissociate from the issue.

The author said many people were concerned about a possible plague epidemic in Russia following an incident at a BSL-3 laboratory. They added that SARS-CoV-2, which they described as requiring BSL-3 biosafety because of its danger, was also spreading widely around the world. #Epidemic #Biosafety #SARSCoV2 #RU

Silti toki paljon hyvin karua. Polarisaatio on ihan eri luokkaa nyt. https://t.co/HOQAhbVxYB #Belgrad #viharikos #polarisaatio #RS

For recent events and many others: “It is morally impossible to remain neutral in this conflict. The bystander is forced to take sides. It is very tempting to take the side of the perpetrator. All the perpetrator asks is that the bystander do nothing.” - Judith Lewis Herman #TakeSides #MoralResponsibility #SpeakUp #Nospecificcountriesarementionedinthetweet.

“Suicide hotlines” are a part of society’s deep trauma response against suicide: it’s far too triggering, so gets dissociated away. Most of them mainly exist to perpetuate human rights crimes. Imagine if there were hotlines you could actually call and they would _help_. #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #HumanRights #Nocountrycodesfound.

This is such important technology! I had a friend who managed to CPR a heart patient (no defibrillator available) outside of a hospital who returned to thank him. That outcome has unfortunately been very rare, but hopefully will increase. https://t.co/0KedHVsnem #CPR #MedicalTechnology #HeartHealth #Thetweetdoesnotmentionanyspecificcountries. Therefore #theresponseis:

In Finland, treating CFS/ME is basically illegal after it cost some doctors their license. Similar consequences for thyroid meds. Now an influencer died involving a plastic surgery clinic in Helsinki. Known for years to e.g. reuse disposable surgical equipment. That was fine. #Finland #CFS #PlasticSurgery #FI

So what is a “personality disorder”? It’s fully healable trauma. It’s shame and dissociation that makes the clinician experience shame and dissociation. Trauma-based B&W thinking has them project shaming ideas on the client. Society perpetuates this abuse dynamic further. #PersonalityDisorder #TraumaHealing #MentalHealthAwareness #Therearenospecificcountriesmentionedinthetweet.

I’ve written hundreds of articles, but this is the longest and perhaps also most important. Why do we keep using the ableist, shaming and outdated concept of personality disorders for trauma? Itself a trauma response, it also acts as societal shorthand. https://t.co/AstFvCayVe #MentalHealth #Trauma #Ableism #Nospecificcountriesarementionedinthetweet.

People often repeat that “no one has ever died of weed”, but it’s unfortunately not true (though of course deaths are very rare). Cannabis hyperemesis syndrome has killed at least half a dozen people. Cannabis can also cause arteritis, arrhythmias and other serious CV issues. #Cannabis #HealthRisks #Hyperemesis #Nocountrycodesarementionedinthetweet.

Eating disorders are not about aesthetics. At the core they are about trauma and control (and shame and dissociation). Trauma is about unsafety, so parts try to find different things to control. They may control others or go inward. You can’t shame people out of feeling ashamed. #EatingDisorders #TraumaRecovery #MentalHealthAwareness #Nospecificcountrycodesarepresentinthetweet.

The concept of personality disorders is deeply ableist and violent, both on a philosophical level but also on the practical one, harming, even killing people and depriving them of appropriate curative treatment. Reifying ableist abuse does not belong in disability pride month. #Ableism #DisabilityPride #MentalHealthAwareness #Therearenospecificcountrycodesintheprovidedtweet.

This is such an important thread! A massive new study provides more evidence for what has been known for decades: vaginal estradiol can greatly help with recurrent UTIs and reduce their potentially deadly complications like sepsis. https://t.co/l7vfy60nWO #VaginalEstradiol #RecurrentUTIs #HealthResearch #Nospecificcountrycodesarementionedinthetweet.

For many people in chronic fight/flight (which is numerous people), alcohol is the only thing that helps them relax and “feel normal”, which not surprisingly is a huge risk factor for alcoholism. For some others, this is not alcohol but weed. The fight/flight parts can be healed. #ChronicStress #Alcoholism #MentalHealth #Nospecificcountrycodesareidentifiedinthetweet.
