Ledarsidorna.se wrote that Peter Hultqvist's interview was an attempt to limit the damage and give the Social Democrats a more "hawkish" profile. The writer thought that several proposals in the interview were good: a permanent amphibious battalion in Gotland, re-establishing I 22 in Kiruna, and above all, building a third submarine of the A26 class. The writer claimed that larger combat vessels needed to be built in series of at least three to ensure redundancy, with two operational and one for training or maintenance. As support, the writer referred to his own experience of two years of service as ELF and LFO at PTK Gbg, the test command for Göteborg-class corvettes. Ledarsidorna.se expressed uncertainty about Magdalena Andersson's foreign and security policy stance and wrote that neighboring countries were not impressed by her latest statement, which the writer believed opened the door for reduced engagement on NATO's northern flank. The writer also believed that Pål Jonson should remain as defense minister and called him the best in the position in modern times. Compared to Hultqvist, the writer thought that Jonson had better knowledge of weapons and weapon systems. #svpol https://t.co/ihG7cqkWH5 #säkerhetspolitik #försvar #svenskpolitk (translated)

Ledarsidorna.se questioned whether Magdalena Andersson was suitable as prime minister and government builder. The writer described their personal image of her as fundamentally positive but criticized her actions in security policy issues. The writer pointed out that Andersson had said in spring 2022 that Swedish NATO membership would destabilize the region before she reportedly changed her stance when Finland moved toward membership. Ledarsidorna.se also referred to an interview in Politico where Andersson allegedly wanted a future government to place greater importance on "the global south." The writer claimed that this aligned with Vladimir Putin's interests and highlighted Russia's actions towards the Baltic states. The post also mentioned that Morgan Johansson, according to Ledarsidorna.se, had stated that the Social Democrats wanted to pause an association agreement with the EU. The writer asserted that this would undermine Sweden's and NATO's northern flank defense capability, as Israeli Elbit Systems was the main supplier of communication systems to the Swedish and Finnish armies. Ledarsidorna.se also criticized that five Social Democratic members of the European Parliament had voted against a resolution to counter Islamist entryism in the EU. The writer claimed, referencing their sources, that the decision had been made by the Social Democrats' executive committee on Sveavägen 68. The post stated that Andersson and the committee had a different assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood than French and German intelligence and security services, without providing the basis for this. The writer concluded by asserting that there were good reasons to ask whether Andersson wanted what was best for Sweden and the Swedish people. #svpol #Sverige #politik #Socialdemokraterna (translated)

Johan Romin wrote that Swedish journalists had long struggled to understand the situation in Gaza. He claimed that Hamas was driving the recurring wars and many casualties, describing the movement's goal as the annihilation of Israel and the expulsion or killing of the country's Jews. According to Romin, Hamas representatives had said this in interviews, and the movement's actions did not contradict their stated goals. Romin wrote that Hamas had been building tunnels for decades with funding from the Western world, while TV crews did not understand what the work was about. He recounted that he had filmed in Hamas tunnels without then understanding their purpose. In 2015, he claimed to have filmed an ongoing tunnel construction at a street corner in northern Gaza and was arrested and interrogated by Hamas. He also wrote that Hamas had worked to foster a new generation of terrorists and suicide bombers. As an example, he mentioned a studio at the al-Aqsa television channel, where, according to him, there was a Quran on the table and a picture of Goofy alongside a child about to sacrifice himself for the al-Aqsa mosque. #Gaza #Hamas #Israel (translated)
