A former woke teacher wrote that MP Nicole Moinat described, according to them, an established order that had lost its moral compass. The teacher stated that criminal organizations were recruiting very young people for explosions, drug trafficking, and assassinations because, according to them, juvenile offenders were hardly punished. In The Hague, according to the teacher, young criminals were primarily seen as victims of their circumstances. The teacher criticized explanations of crime based on disadvantage, personal problems, and a difficult childhood, because those explanations, according to them, obscured the responsibility of the offenders. The teacher also stated that the compassion for offenders was greater than the concern for victims. Young people deserved a second chance, according to them, but it should not outweigh the safety of society. The teacher wrote that the government, out of fear of appearing inhumane, no longer dared to set limits and that the consequences of this were borne by people who obeyed the law. #rechtstaat #criminaliteit #veiligheid (translated)

Ann Van Haute wondered how the EU elite would react if their political commitment to Ukraine were to fail. According to her, that elite had invested in it for years, spent billions, and put pressure on their own economy, while problems in Europe piled up. She argued that Ukraine was about the only topic that still mattered in politics and that the elite in Europe could gain little honor anymore. She also pondered how desperate that elite would become if their last major political narrative threatened to disappear. #Oekraïne #EU #Politiek (translated)

According to Mariba, Yeşilgöz stated that the Netherlands was not at war, but that a carefree peace was also not in sight. Mariba wrote that the Russian consulate had asked the Dutch government to confirm or distance itself from the statements. She believed it should be made clear whether this was about official policy, a political warning, or political rhetoric. According to Mariba, designating an enemy was not a strategy and threatening language could escalate tensions. She argued that the consequences of such statements ultimately affected civilians and urged the government to explain what the policy and risks were and how it intended to ensure security. She criticized the VVD and argued that politicians should think first before declaring an entire country an enemy. #Nederland #politiek #veiligheid (translated)
