Karina Michelin stated that on Sunday, October 11, the Amazon was still burning and that the smoke in Manaus was affecting residents, while classes were suspended and firefighters were working at their limit. She also reported that a firefighter became ill during the firefighting efforts and had to be carried by colleagues. Michelin said that the Amazon Fire Department requested reinforcements from the federal government on September 18, including four aircraft, transportation, and vehicles. According to her, on October 1, the National Public Security Secretariat, linked to the Lula government, responded that the request could not be met at that moment. The author stated that the federal government claimed the state had waived support and cited 229 extinguished fires and another 20 still being fought. She said the aircraft began to arrive on October 10, following a wave of complaints on social media. The author compared the current mobilization with that of 2021, during the Bolsonaro government, when Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, and Chico César participated in the song "Canção pra Amazônia," by Greenpeace. She questioned the absence of a similar mobilization in light of the situation of residents and firefighters. Michelin called Lula and the Amazonas government hypocrites and demanded explanations about who had denied or waived help and when reinforcements arrived at the fire line. She also stated that human and animal lives threatened by smoke should take precedence over political disputes. #Amazônia #Incêndios #MeioAmbiente (translated)

Jones Manoel explained that he used to respond to the messages received on Instagram, which averaged between 800 to 1,000 per day. According to him, since October 3rd, the average had exceeded 8,000 daily messages and, since Sunday, his account had gained more than 300,000 followers. He stated that although he had been elected as a deputy, he would only take office in February and was no longer counting on a team to assist him. He mentioned that the team was funded by donations and resources from the PSOL's electoral fund. Manoel also reported that he had not had a day of rest since the first round and that he was dedicated to the campaign for Lula's victory. He claimed that since the beginning of September, he had not been able to sleep six hours a day. According to him, he could not reorganize his response to the messages at that moment, but he would continue responding and could only plan how to do so after the second round. He asked for patience and understanding and said he was doing his best, at his physical limit. #Deputado #Campanha #Lula (translated)
