Jeg åpner Constantin Noicas «Søndagsessays», kommer til forlagets forord i Humanitas-utgaven fra 1992 og oppdager at «rettskrivningen er oppdatert». Å lese Noica kunne ha vært en vandring gjennom 1930- og 1940-årene. I stedet tar vi turen med moderne briller på, komfortabelt sittende i en Uber, uten frykt for å gå oss vill — altså for ikke å forstå ordene fra den tiden, som ganske enkelt kunne ha blitt «oversatt» i fotnoter.
