Viisi teesiä verotuksesta: 1 Verotus on kireää Suomalaisia verotetaan ankarasti. Veroja on paljon. Ne ovat korkeita. Lisäksi kasvaneet eläkemenot nappaavat ison siivun tuloista.  2 Verotusta ei voi loputtomasti kiristää Verotuksen loputon kiristäminen ei siksi ole ratkaisu julkisen talouden ongelmiin. Ei kerta kaikkiaan ole mitään kohdetta, jota voitaisiin verottaa rankasti enemmän ilman haittoja. Ei kannata uskoa ketään, joka muuta väittää. Erityisesti Suomen vähäisiä rikkaita verottamalla ei pitkälle pötkitä.  3 Verotus pysyy kireänä Verotus ei kuitenkaan tule kokonaisuutena merkittävästi alenemaan lähiaikoina. Ei kannata uskoa ketään, joka väittää muuta. Kasvavat hoiva-, eläke- ja puolustusmenot pitävät huolen siitä, että verotus pysyy kireänä. Siksi on tärkeää verottaa fiksusti ja tehdä kohdennettuja uudistuksia. 4 Emme elä sotataloudessa Ehdotettu puolustusvero sai jotkut puhumaan jo sotataloudesta. Puolustusmenojen merkittäväkään kasvattaminen ei kuitenkaan tarkoita sotatalouteen siirtymistä. Sotataloudessa yksityinen kulutus painetaan alas. Pitkän aikavälin talouskehitys uhrataan välittömien puolustustarpeiden vuoksi. Suomi ei onneksi ole tässä tilanteessa. Puolustusmenot voidaan kasvustaan huolimatta rahoittaa osana normaalia taloutta, uhraamatta pitkän aikavälin kasvua esimerkiksi liialla verotuksella. Tämä kuitenkin tarkoittaa, että puolustusmenojen lisääminen on tehtävä tiukassa budjettikurissa. Se on vaikeaa ja edellyttää tinkimistä muusta. 5 Julkisen talouden tasapainottaminen on ikävää ja tyylitöntä hommaa Julkisen talouden tasapainottaminen ei tule olemaan aatteellisesti tyylipuhdas suoritus vaan ikävä kompromissi. Ei kannata uskoa ketään, joka sanoo muuta. Oikeisto joutuu nielemään veroratkaisuja, vasemmisto leikkauksia.
