"the creation of BUS lanes dedicated exclusively to public transport" João Ferreira, councilor of the PCP, also noted that the compensation values to be paid to the Metro, calculated by the transport company itself, are not accompanied by an assessment and verification by the services of CML and further argued that there should be "the creation of BUS lanes dedicated exclusively to public transport," which, "in conjunction with special Carris routes, would ensure the use of public transport over private transport," considering that it is a very congested traffic route. #MetroDeLisboa #MobilidadeUrbana #DrenagemLisboa (translated)

The author stated that the attachment that the person in question claimed to be unaware of was part of the proposal and the program contract signed with the CML. He added that this document had been voted on by the CML, bound the parties, and was the basis for his statements. He considered the alleged lack of knowledge serious and said it revealed the context in which the support was granted. #CML #proposta #contrato #PT (translated)

Let's get to the facts, then, but to the real ones and not those from an attachment from the chamber, which I haven’t seen and which is likely outdated. TUMO Lisbon opened two years ago with a thousand students. In the second year it increased to fifteen hundred, and it continues with fifteen hundred, the same as TUMO Coimbra, TUMO Porto, and TUMO Bilbao -- all operated by us. The 700 that the councilor mentions were the prudent hypothesis of a proposal document from three years ago, when the Chamber was supposed to have entered as a founding member of the project. The students are in Beato, we can count them, and they are double what you say. The cost per student thus comes out contrary: 250,000 euros (per year) divided by fifteen hundred adolescents equals 167 euros per student per year, for four hours a week of technology, design, and programming, outside school hours, for free. Public school costs the State more than seven thousand euros per student per year, and I have never heard you say that you find it expensive -- a value that does not include rent, which we pay, and in which the municipalities take care of the management and payment of non-teaching staff, operational assistants, and technical assistants, as well as the maintenance of the buildings, meals, school transportation, and school social action. The 'initial phase' you mention in which the support would be 'more than double' did not exist: TUMO Lisbon operated for two full years without a cent from the chamber, with 100% private funding, while CML fulfilled, with two years of delay, the support it had promised at the opening. As for the idea that supporting TUMO is an eccentricity of Lisbon: in Coimbra, Porto, Matosinhos, and Gaia, the chambers also support; in Bilbao, the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia and the Ayuntamiento; in Paris, TUMO is fully funded by the chamber, and the same in Buenos Aires, Tirana, Los Angeles, and Gunma, Japan; in Germany, the six centers are funded by the public development bank, the federal government, and the municipalities. Lisbon is not the exception that supports. It was the exception that did not support. I renew the invitation: come see the fifteen hundred. Send me a private message and we'll agree on a day. It's faster than reading attachments and more useful than throwing comments on X. Moreover, coming to know the projects supported by the Chamber is your duty as a councilor. #Educação #Lisboa #TUMO (translated)

I ACCUSE PUTIN. Putin’s strategy is not only to destroy Ukraine with missiles, drones and soldiers. His wider strategy is to break Europe politically from within—country by country, election by election, government by government.
