Yvonne Kussmann reported, citing the Südwest Presse, that a 27-year-old Afghan appeared at the town hall in Tuttlingen with a weapon and was subsequently shot by the police. Before that, he had applied for a fiction certificate there, which could serve as proof of legal residence for asylum seekers during an ongoing asylum procedure. The document was not issued to him; after that, he was removed from the building. Kussmann wrote that the man then returned with a weapon. The reason why the certificate was not issued was initially unclear. The 27-year-old was known to the police and in the city for psychological disturbances, she wrote. She announced that she would submit an inquiry regarding the case. Kussmann compared the incident to the attack in Illerkirchberg: A 27-year-old Eritrean had attacked 14-year-old Ece and her friend with a knife on the morning of December 5, 2022, as they passed by the accommodation of Okba B. on their way to the school bus. The man wanted to go to the district office to kill staff of the immigration authority because they had not issued him a travel document. Kussmann wrote that he assumed the girls had seen his knife and would notify the police. Ece was so severely injured that she died two hours later in the hospital; her friend was able to escape after the first attack and survived with serious injuries. Kussmann wrote that the case in Tuttlingen ended differently and did not require any uninvolved victims. #Tuttlingen #Asylrecht #Gewaltprävention (translated)
