Bartosz Lewandowski alleged that in the Court of Appeal in Warsaw, an appeal regarding a "iron-clad" letter for Marcin Romanowski was directed for consideration, bypassing 12 judges from the complaint application section. He claimed that after the change of power, Adam Bodnar led to changes in the court's leadership, and 12 judges were removed from ruling on other cases, including those concerning operational surveillance and temporary arrests. According to Lewandowski, the section was appropriate for reviewing appeals regarding iron-clad letters. He referred to a previous appeal regarding the refusal to issue an iron-clad letter for Michał Kuczmierowski, which was reviewed by the judges of that section. In Lewandowski's assessment, the prosecutor's appeal in the Romanowski case was wrongly classified as concerning arrest. He indicated that the case in the District Court was registered as concerning an iron-clad letter, and the decision on arrest was meant to be merely a consequence of its granting. He added that he appealed the decision in favor of Romanowski, and his appeal was instructed to be sent to the appellate court on October 2, 2026, a few days before the prosecutor's appeal. Lewandowski called the situation a scandal and announced that he would request explanations from the management of the appellate court. He also informed that he would notify the First President of the Supreme Court Zbigniew Kapiński about the matter and the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor of the U.S. Department of State. He announced that he would bring up comments made by Minister Waldemar Żurek about Judge Konrad Mielcarek and the case of Judge Dariusz Łubowski after the European arrest warrant against Romanowski was revoked. He pointed out that he intended to do this in connection with the extradition request concerning Zbigniew Ziobro in the same matter. #SądApelacyjny #Sprawiedliwość #Polska (translated)
