Nach dem Regierungsentwurf erhält der Auslandssender im kommenden Jahr 388,6 #Millionen Euro Zuschuss für den laufenden Betrieb und weitere 20 Millionen Euro für #Investitionen – zusammen 408,6 Millionen Euro. Nach ihrem #Wirtschaftsplan finanziert sich die Deutsche Welle zu 97,5 Prozent aus dem Bundeshaushalt, eigene Einnahmen machen gerade 2,5 Prozent aus. Weil sich die Höhe des Zuschusses nach dem Deutsche-Welle-Gesetz bemisst, muss der Streichung die Aufhebung dieses Gesetzes folgen.
