However, they do not represent the Jewish and Israeli students at Maastricht University and cannot replace the representative organization of the students whose campus, lecture halls, and daily living environment are directly at stake. A meeting held elsewhere, with discussion partners who do not represent these students, can be viewed as discussions with Jewish organizations, but cannot reasonably be presented as a consultation with the representative organization of Jewish and Israeli students studying at Maastricht University. For that reason, we believe that if the minister wishes to address what is happening at Maastricht University, she should come to Maastricht and engage directly in conversation with the representative organization of Jewish and Israeli students here. Ongelofelijk. We hebben het kabinet gevraagd inhoudelijk (!) te reageren op allerlei experts zoals Glenn Diesen, Jeffrey Sachs en John Mearsheimer die de oorlog in Oekraïne karakteriseren als een proxyoorlog tussen de NAVO/EU enerzijds en Rusland anderzijds in en vooral ten koste van Oekraïne. Dit weigert (!) het kabinet te doen. Waarom? Omdat deze kritiek (van al deze experts) “pro-Russische desinformatie” zou zijn en het kabinet wil vermijden “om in dergelijke frames mee te gaan”. Met andere woorden, deze regering kwalificeert elke vorm van kritiek - ook zeer goed onderbouwde kritiek van onafhankelijke vooraanstaande experts - bij voorbaat (bij voorbaat!) als “desinformatie afkomstig uit het Kremlin” (het staat letterlijk zo in de beslisnota hieronder, lees het zelf!) en weigert (weigert!) vervolgens om deze kritiek inhoudelijk te weerleggen en Kamervragen hierover te beantwoorden want zo wordt, aldus de regering “bewust vermeden om in dergelijke frames mee te gaan”. Heb echt een haat-liefde verhouding met JA21. Hun interrupties zijn soms zó ontzettend scherp en tot the point, dat ik ze een staande ovatie zou willen geven. Vooral omdat die interupties lang niet allemaal in het belang zijn van hun eigen politieke standpunten, maar wel om de hypocrisie en tegenstrijdigheden van coalitiepartijen en kabinetsleden bloot te leggen. Bij JA21 zitten een paar hyperintelligente Kamerleden die in staat zijn om anderen in hun hemd te zetten zonder ze te schofferen. Heerlijk om te zien. Ik vind JA21 inhoudelijk ook het sterkst op asiel- en migratie én op politie/handhaving.
